We’re a fast-moving startup building the next generation of cloud infrastructure. Today’s cloud platforms are powerful, but inefficient — built on decades-old software that no longer matches modern workloads. Backed by award-winning research and open-source technology, we’ve developed Unikraft Cloud, a radically more efficient platform for running cloud applications with better performance, security, and cost-effectiveness.

We’re looking for a junior cloud infrastructure engineer who thrives at the intersection of technology and real-world use cases. You’ll work directly with customers to help them migrate, optimize, and scale on our platform; And in the process, help shape the evolution of modern cloud computing.

What You’ll Own

  • Customer Deployments: Work directly with clients to onboard and migrate complex infrastructure onto Unikraft Cloud.
  • Infrastructure Optimization: Troubleshoot, refine, and ensure the performance and reliability of customer deployments.
  • Container & Linux Expertise: Leverage your hands-on knowledge of Docker, Dockerfiles, and Linux-based systems to support and scale infrastructure.
  • Technical Partner: Act as a trusted advisor, helping clients navigate the intricacies of next-gen cloud infra.
  • Product Feedback Loop: Collaborate cross-functionally with product and engineering to incorporate customer feedback into our roadmap.

What We’re Looking For

  • Infra Fluency: Strong experience with containers (Docker, Dockerfiles), Linux, and CI/CD design.
  • Problem-Solver: Excellent debugging and optimization skills with a customer-focused mindset.
  • Communicator: Comfortable working across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Versatile Engineer: Ability to learn fast and adapt to different runtimes, build systems, and environments (Rust, Node, Go, Python, C++, etc.).
  • Extra Points: Familiarity with OCI standards, QEMU/KVM, Firecracker, Cloud-Hypervisor, and direct customer-facing experience.

Mindset

  • Eagerness to learn and take on new challenges.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a curious, analytical mindset.
  • Enthusiasm for building reliable, high-performance systems.
  • Team player with good communication skills.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new programming languages, runtimes and environments. As a field engineer you’ll deal with Rust, Node, Go, Python, C++, different build systems, different runtimes, frameworks, libraries etc.

Why This Role is Career-Defining

As an early Field Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in shaping both the user experience and our core infrastructure. You’ll work on real-world problems, engage deeply with customers, and operate across diverse environments and languages—from Rust and Go to Python and C++. You’ll be exposed to the full lifecycle of customer adoption, and your work will directly influence product direction and success.

Why You’ll Love This Team

  • Next-gen product: We’re building a hyperscale-efficient cloud built for serious infra needs—built on research, battle-tested by customers.
  • Customer-first culture: Your work with users directly shapes what we build and how we build it.
  • Fast and fearless: We ship fast, solve real problems, and push the boundaries of what infra can do.
  • Deep tech: Join a high-caliber, technical founding team focused on shipping fast and learning even faster.
  • Direct impact: Have real ownership and direct influence our product and customer outcomes.

Benefits

  • Remote-first from day one — work wherever you’re most productive.
